First United Methodist Church sponsors Boy Scout Troop 81 and Cub Scout Pack 81, both members of the Great Smoky Mountain Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Originally chartered in 1916, Troop 81 is the first and oldest Boy Scout Troop in Blount County.  Today, enrollment numbers approximately 45 scouts, aided by over two dozen volunteer leaders, at least half of whom are trained Assistant Scoutmasters.  Scouts of the troop and pack participate in a variety of outdoor and cultural activities and perform various service projects within the community.

 

Every year, Troop 81 opens its doors to new members!  We are recruiting boys who want to learn and grow in a positive atmosphere, and families who are enthusiastic about supporting their sons.  Troop 81 wants you!

 

Troop 81 meets on Monday evenings at 7:00 pm in Asbury Hall (Gym on lower level).
