Care & Concerns At First United Methodist Church, we care for our congregation and their families with support during times of illness and loss, and with congratulations during times of joy and new birth. Congregational care plays a vital role in bringing the church community together as the body of Christ. We have a prayer ministry praying for the concerns of the congregation. Our ministers visit those members and their families who are in the hospital. Volunteers and staff also call and visit members who are homebound and can no longer attend worship. Communion is taken to those persons who desire it. Congregational care is a vital ministry and is everyone's responsibility. You can become a part of this rewarding ministry and serve the congregation by spending time in prayer, visiting with a homebound member, offering transportation to those in need or simply writing notes of encouragement to those going through a difficult time.
